TFEL Symposium: “Ubuntu & Field Education – Celebrating World Social Work Day”

This year, the 2021 World Social Day highlights Ubuntu: I am Because We Are. This is the first theme of Social Work and Social Development’s 2020 to 2030 Global Agenda.
Ubuntu: ‘I Am Because We Are’ is a concept and philosophy that resonates with the social work perspective of unity and interconnectedness of all peoples and their environments. It speaks to the need for global solidarity, as well as highlights Indigenous knowledge and wisdom.
Join us for a keynote lecture, panel discussion, and breakout discussions to celebrate World Social Work Day in the spirit of Ubuntu!
This symposium will occur on Tuesday, March 16th from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm MST / 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm EST.

Cette année, la Journée mondiale des affaires sociales 2021 met en lumière Ubuntu: Je suis parce que nous sommes. C’est le premier thème du Programme mondial 2020-2030 du Travail social et du développement social.
Ubuntu: «Je suis parce que nous sommes» est un concept et une philosophie qui résonne avec la perspective du travail social de l’unité et de l’interdépendance de tous les peuples et de leur environnement. Il témoigne de la nécessité d’une solidarité mondiale et met en lumière les connaissances et la sagesse autochtones.
