A plenary session, panel presentation, breakout discussions, and workshops have been organized to discuss the context of social work field education. Topics to be covered include the state of field education, digital storytelling, practice research, transformational learning, and indigenous field education. This Summit is designed for social work educators, students, researchers, and practitioners. This event is eligible for Continuing Education Credits.

This workshop introduces digital storytelling as a method to identify and articulate transformative learning in field education and social work research. The session begins by providing background into the digital storytelling process and research on its application. Examples of digital storytelling from research and field domains will be presented. In the second part of the workshop participants will be invited directly into the storytelling process by creating their own story. Participants will be encouraged to consider how these techniques could be useful in their own settings. Workshop participants will be provided with resources on digital storytelling.
