The TFEL project invites you to register for the Meet the Author Speaker Series to discuss the book: “Transforming Social Work Field Education: New Insights from Practice Research and Scholarship.”
On September 28 at 10:00 am MDT, Dr. Emmanuel Chilanga, Assistant Professor in the School of Social Work at the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC), will present his book chapter “The Current State of Developmental Social Work Theory and Field Education in Africa: A Scoping Review.”
Participants will have an opportunity to discuss the chapter with the author and to ask questions.
About the Author:
Dr. Emmanuel Chilanga is an Assistant Professor in the School of Social Work at the University of Northern British Columbia. He holds a PhD and a Master’s degree in social work from McGill University, a Master of Science degree in Geography from the University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Malawi. His primary research focuses on community organizing to examine and address the determinants of poor child and maternal health, household food insecurity, intimate partner violence, and COVID-19 community recovery strategies in Sub-Saharan Africa. He also conducts research in exploring innovative social work field education models in Canada and Africa.
